For over 20 years, artisans Woody and Judy Smith have hand cut intricate silhouettes from Baltic birchwood, expertly portraying landscapes, human and animal figures, and more. Each piece comes with a custom fit oak stand for display.
2015 Fall Application Available
Artists and Artisans are encouraged to apply now for our Fall 2015 Arts and Crafts Festival, taking place October 10-11. We are accepting applications in all handcrafted media, with a jury deadline of May 15.
Al Pellenberg of New Georgia Claywork worked in architecture and theatre design before turning to pottery. His designs are modern and reflect his architectural background - hand built slab constructions are enhanced with textures from stamps and found objects, colored underglazes, and added materials.
Klaus Anselm: Handwoven Tapestries
"Lasting impressions of the beauty and grandeur of the Grand Canyon and images of the Southwest with the stunningly simple compositions of sky, country and architecture have greatly influenced my work," writes Klaus Anselm, weaver of bold fine art tapestries and new Exhibitor at the Crozet Spring Arts and Crafts Festival. Formerly a medical doctor, Anselm took up weaving after his retirement. His tapestries have been shown in Fine Art Galleries and Fiber Shows around the United States.
Impressionist-style Original Paintings
From his Florida base, painter John Maurer travels the world in search of new scenes to depict in oil with his painterly, Impressionist-style approach. While the palette knife has long been Maurer's tool of choice, he is lately beginning to incorporate other techniques in his work.
